Wizz Air announces new route from Malta

Wizz Air today announced a new route from Malta to Sofia which will be operated from 20 June 2014 two times a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

The Bulgarian capital is the 3rd destination from Malta. The airline believes this is good news for the job market in aviation and tourism sectors in both cities as consumers will have access to more low cost routes.

Wizz Air’s Daniel de Carvalho said: “Wizz Air has today delivered more great news for Maltese consumers and for the local tourism industry. Sofia is now the third city we fly on from Malta. We hope that the country will benefit from the inflow of tourists from Bulgaria which could stimulate job creation in tourism and hospitality sectors. On the other hand we are also confident that Maltese consumers will appreciate visiting Sofia, a dynamic Eastern European capital that preserves many valuable monuments to its long and storied past. Furthermore, Sofia is renowned for its beautiful scenery and a developed ski-resort in Vitosha mountain close to the city.”
